New Page – New Blog

March 1, 2008

Blogging. Just a few years ago this word was as foreign to us as a tribal language of a hidden Peruvian village. But now, it’s everywhere. A blog is simply a place for a person to write out their thoughts. It’s kind of a personal message board where people go to read and find out random and sometimes not-so-random stuff about the person or the organization writing the blog.

To quote Kip from Napoleon Dynamite – “Yes, I love technology, but not as much as you, you see…But I STILL love technology…Always and forever” – I want to use technology to enable our church to effectively reach our community better.

So, we’re going to try using the blog as a way to speak to our current church members as well as anyone else just interested in what’s going on. That means that we want to make this blog the place people go to in order to find out what’s going on with the church, what’s randomly going on in my head, and also to find answers to questions that maybe a lot of people are wondering. It will also be a place where you’ll be able to view and add photos of church events.

In other words, it’s a safe entrance into the front doors of our church community. I’m hoping that this blog will be our number two advertisement behind you all doing the whole word of mouth thing.

If you haven’t already, subscribe to this blog. Check it every couple of days. Please read the posts and even forward them to your friends. Maybe they’ll subscribe to the blog and become interested in our church through this safe and fun medium.

Blogging out,
Rob
